September 25, 2014

So here’s how you can win an ebook of “Acting Out.”

Let me know what you think about the whole “Gay for Pay” industry. Truth or myth? Do you think its possible or realistic for two men to be straight and have gay sex? I’m really interested in your opinion so don’t be shy. Everyone who comments will be put into the drawing and I’ll give away three copies of the ebook.

You’ve got until 4:45 to posts and I’ll announce the winner this evening at 5:00pm EST.

And just as a sneak peak, here’s what’s coming in November.

The Royal Street Heist 400x600The Royal Street Heist

When a valuable piece of Civil War art is stolen from a popular New Orleans gallery, NOPD Lead Detective Montgomery “Beau” Bissonet and his partner set out to solve the crime. When the gallery’s insurance company sends Tollison Cruz to the Big Easy to conduct their own independent investigation, personalities clash and battle lines are definitely drawn.

The heist quickly becomes a politically driven high profile case, and Detective Bissonet is furious when he’s ordered to work along side Investigator Cruz to assure a timely arrest.  The heat index soars to new levels when the two investigators discover they have a lot more in common then originally thought.

With the tension between them temporarily sated, Bissonet and Cruz finally start to work together, on more then just a professional level. But everything comes to a screeching halt when Beau discovers his cohort in crime has been withholding information regarding the investigation and has been concealing a very questionable past. What happens next rivals the scorching summer heat.

Scotty Cade Bio:

Scotty Cade left Corporate America and twenty-five years of Marketing and Public Relations behind to buy the lambert’s Cove Inn, Farm & Restaurant on the island of Martha’s Vineyard with his partner of seventeen years.   He started writing stories as soon as he could read, but only a few years ago for publication.  When not at the Inn, you can find him on the bow of his boat writing gay romance novels with his Shetland sheepdog Mavis at his side.  Being from the south and a lover of commitment and fidelity, most of his characters find their way to long healthy relationships, however long it takes them to get there.  He believes that in the end, the boy should always get the boy.

  1. Debra E says:

I’d always assumed “gay for pay” was just a set up and that the men involved were bisexual or gay, but I guess it is possible in the same way straight women do girl-girl scenes in “straight” porn. I’ve never seen any gay for pay so it’s hard for me to judge.

  2. Susan says:

While I commented earlier that I did not know two straight men could have gay sex, I don’t see why not. I think most people are not completely het or gay (as Kinsey postulated over sixty years ago). I absolutely would have sex with another woman for enough money, so I do believe gay for pay exists. It also might nudge someone closer to the gay end of Kinsey’s spectrum.

  3. Susie Q says:

In all honesty, I really believe that everyone places somewhere on a spectrum in terms of sexuality with very few people being 100% gay or straight. I do think most people might have a strong leaning toward one or the other but they could make exceptions. In this book, it seems like the camaraderie between these men and their genuine affection for one another allows them to share the physical aspects of the relationships with each other. So, yes, I think if circumstances were right, it would be possible for two “straight” men or women to have “gay” sex. Might take alil more effort tho.. ;)

  4. Ardent Ereader says:

I think there is truth to the Gay for Pay, it may not be all that different from the straight porn industry, the ‘passion’ depicted in porn movies is acting.

  5. BabyBarlow says:

In my opinion, it’s possibile. Let’s say that, most of the time, it’s about the education a person receive. It’s like when a man falls in love with another man but he doesn’t even look at others in a certain way (sexually): they want that person because of who he is and not about the gerne. I’ve met a couple of men that slept with other men because: “He was f***ing hot!”. For me it’s possible:)

  6. alex says:

I had the chance to read something about men/women sleeping with other men/women for money and they were straight. I think that if someone needs money and this someone can’t find a job, he/she can really sleeps with someone of the same sex: you do what you have to do to keep going.
    Yep, it’s possibile!!

  7. H.B. says:

I don’t think its a myth. I was watching Tyra Banks tv show and she had actually interviewed straight and gay men who worked as strip clubs catering to men. The straight men actually said they did it cause the money was too good to pass up and one even said his girlfriend was all for it.

  8. ScottyCade says:

These are all really great points of view. Thank you all for posting. For anyone else willing to chime in, you;ve got twenty more minutes.

  9. Andrea M says:

    I don’t think I believe but I love it!

  10. ScottyCade says:

I’ll do the drawing in a few and announce at 5:00pm. Good luck everyone and thanks for spending the day with me.
