Ready or Knot Here Comes Book Three

Take a Chance On It with Dane and Gideon is ready to make you cry.

In the creative world, I’m a creature of impulse. I guess I’m like a monkey who’s found a new stick. I don’t bother to look at it before I’m charging off to see what I can do with it. I almost never plan ahead. I get an idea and charge in, figuring everything out as I go. I’ve never planned to write any of my books series, they just happen when characters won’t let go. But when I got the idea for Take a Chance On It, I realized it was the last book in a series, not the first. The scene that sparked my interest, wondering why someone would agree to be best man when he was in love with the groom, really only worked if you knew some of the history. The best man and groom had friends there, friends who knew the whole story. At first I was excited to get so many characters all at once, then I was overwhelmed by the idea that I’d have to tell these other stories first before I could get to the one that started at the wedding I could see—feel—so clearly.

All that planning, an alien concept to a seat-of-the-pants writer like me was daunting. I had a lot to figure out before I could even start to get the words down (my favorite thing about writing). That maybe why I thought these books would come out in 2014 and 2016 is into the last quarter before book three hits the store. Despite the extra length brain gestation, I wouldn’t change a thing. I love each of these books, and I’ve had a great time meeting all these characters and their families and seeing them off to their happy endings. It’s been a great way to celebrate the national legalization of marriage equality, with stories about couples experiencing love in all its beautiful, complicated, frustrating, and joyful ways.

We’ve had nationwide marriage equality now for over a year, and I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of hearing about all the amazing ways it’s changed lives for the better. Please comment with something you’ve seen or read or experienced in our wonderful trip toward equality.

Sequel to Risk Everything on It
Ready or Knot: Book Three

Left at the altar by his long-time lover, Spencer, and in desperate need of quality health insurance, Dane Archer can’t say no when his best man and best friend, Gideon DeLuca, steps in. But Dane and Gideon have history, tangled and passionate and complicated.

After seventeen years of cat and mouse, Gideon has realized Dane isn’t the kind of man who ever wants to be caught, and he’s stopped playing Dane’s game.

For Dane, it’s never been a game, but sexual fidelity isn’t his strong suit. Love is too beautiful for limits, something he’s never been able to get Gideon the control freak to understand. Now Dane has nothing but limits, including the timeline on his paper-only marriage to Gideon.

Gideon’s the only person Dane trusts enough to lean on, and Gideon will do anything to get Dane through this crisis. Anything but fall for Dane again.

Living together forces Dane and Gideon to stop circling and face what’s been between them all these years. They just don’t know if they have the power or the time to make things right.

What they do know is that they’re not ready for it to be over.
